Flour Sack Towels – Classic Kitchen Towels from the Past

From the 1850s to the 1950s, everything from flour and sugar to chicken feed, sausage, and even voting ballots was packed in tightly woven cotton bags known as 'flour sacks.' Thrifty households would wash and bleach these sacks, then repurpose them into underwear, pillowcases, toys, and most commonly, kitchen towels. Highly absorbent and lint-free, flour sack towels were passed down from grandmother to mother to daughter, and today they remain cherished as nostalgic, classic towels in American homes.
